What we're here for.

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

taking the time to understand not just what's hard for your child, but why. Every evaluation looks at the whole picture: cognitive, emotional, social, academic, behavioral, cultural, and environmental. Every report is individualized, written in plain language, and built around a clear roadmap of what to do next.

Children are met with warmth and patience, so they feel comfortable enough to show up as themselves. Parents leave with clarity, confidence, and the right people in their corner.

That's what we're here to provide. Every time.

AY Neuropsych is a pediatric neuropsychology practice built on one belief:
that understanding your child's brain can lead to real and meaningful growth.

We combine rigorous clinical expertise with a deeply human, child-centered approach —

The people behind the practice

About Anny

Meet Dr. Anny Yang

I started this practice because I genuinely love neuroscience and children. This work — sitting with a child who's a little nervous, watching them relax, and seeing the moment they let their guard down and start to enjoy themselves — is where the most valuable clinical data is collected; by fostering that initial comfort, we create the necessary foundation for the child to reveal their true level of functioning. Sometimes this looks like sitting on the rug with them if that’s what makes them feel safe and comfortable, bringing out the hot chocolate, and figuring out who this person actually is, what brings them joy, and what their greatest source of stress is.

I am a board certified clinical neuropsychologist (ABPP) — the highest credentials in the field that attests to the advanced training and competence required for specialty practice in clinical neuropsychology. I trained at UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, the Child Mind Institute, and NYU Langone Rusk Rehabilitation. I'm a member of the Clinical Advisory Council at the Child Mind Institute and an Active Member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN).

The credentials matter. But so does this: I'm a Taiwan-born, bilingual Taiwanese American, and that shapes everything about how I approach my work. I support multilingual families and students to better understand how multilingualism influences learning. I also offer bilingual evaluations in English and Mandarin and I bring a deep and personal understanding of what it means to raise a child between cultures and languages. A child's background isn't a footnote. It's part of how I understand them.

What I care most about is that you leave with something real. A clear picture of how your child thinks, learns, feels, and connects with people and their community. A report that sounds like your child, not a template. And a roadmap that tells you where to start — not just what the challenges are.

Schools and referring clinicians often tell me that my reports are thoughtful, highly detailed, and nuanced and that they captured their students so well. That's the whole point.

As Clinical Director, I oversee the quality of every evaluation this practice produces. The standard I set is the one we keep.

About Sam

Meet Sam Printz, MA

Sam is a fourth-year School-Clinical Child Psychology doctoral student at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Prior to her doctoral training, she received her bachelor’s degree in Child Studies and Psychology from Vanderbilt University. Following her first year in graduate school, Sam was trained by Dr. Yang during the summer as a clinical extern. Through her clinical experiences, Sam has developed a passion for providing neuropsychological assessments to children and adolescents. She utilizes a child-centered, strengths-based approach when working with children and their families. She has extensive experience conducting evaluations in a variety of settings including an elementary school, low-fee community clinic, private practice, and hospital with a variety of presenting concerns such as learning differences, ADHD, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and social and communication difficulties.

Sam recently completed a clinical externship at The Center for ADHD, Learning Disorders, and Related Disabilities at Mount Sinai where she conducted extensive neuropsychological evaluations for individuals ranging from ages 6-30. Currently, she is a clinical extern at The Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment at Mount Sinai where she continues to conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations with a specific focus on children and adults on the autism spectrum. Sam is dedicated to helping children and their families navigate academic, attentional, and social-emotional challenges through neuropsychological evaluations, and she is thrilled to be working with Dr. Yang to support children and their families.

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all evaluations. Every child who comes through our doors gets a process that's been thoughtfully tailored to them — from the very first conversation with parents to the final report in your hands.

Here's what we believe every family deserves:

What makes
AY Neuropsych Different

A balanced picture

of your child's strengths and areas of growth, not just a list of challenges

Collaboration

Clear next steps

with teachers, therapists, and anyone else who knows your child well

a prioritized roadmap for what to do, not just a list of findings

Reports that are actually readable

A thorough evaluation

A clinician who connects

individualized, jargon-free, and visually guided

with your child and with you

that looks at the whole child — not just a single question or concern

"We take great care to apply our expert knowledge of brain development and assessment while tailoring evaluations to ensure your child feels comfortable and safe to show us their unique true selves. The goal is to help you understand your child's profile of strengths, areas of growth, and needs for support. "

— Dr. Anny Yang, Founder & Clinical Director

What guides us

OUR VALUES

A real roadmap

Authenticity

Clarity

The whole child

Emotional safety

Clinical excellence

Individualized. Prioritized. Written for families — not filing cabinets.

We show up as real people first. Children connect with that — and so do parents.

We translate complex findings into plain language. Families leave understanding their child — not just their scores.

Every evaluation looks at the full picture: cognitive, emotional, social, academic, developmental, cultural, and environmental. Strengths and areas of growth alike.

Children should feel seen, calm, comfortable, and cared for from the moment they walk in. We build that intentionally.

Board-certified oversight. Rigorous methods. No shortcuts. Board certification represents the highest attainable reflection of expertise in and commitment to the science of clinical neuropsychology.

Because the first step to a good evaluation is a child who feels safe — here's how I introduce myself to them.

A LETTER TO KIDS

Hi! When you come to see me, you can call me Anny. My job is to learn all about how you learn — what you're really good at, what feels easier for you, and what might feel a little trickier sometimes. Everyone has things they're great at and things they need more time and practice with, and that's totally okay.

The reason I do this is so we can figure out how to make learning, activities, or playdates feel more fun, easier, and more comfortable for you.

When we're together, you'll get to do lots of different activities. Some will feel like playing games, solving puzzles, working with blocks, drawing, and using an iPad. A few might feel a bit like school — like reading, writing, or math — but don't worry, you'll get plenty of breaks. You can eat snacks, take rests, draw on the wall, and even have hot chocolate.

My job isn't just to understand how you learn. It's also to learn about what you enjoy, what you find boring, and what feels hard. I do my very best to make our time together feel fun and relaxed, and there are no right or wrong answers. I just want to see how your brain works.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you!

You don’t need to have everything figured out.
We’ll help you understand what’s going on — and what to do next.

Start with a conversation.
