WELCOME
Hi, I’m Dr. Anny Yang. I’m a Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist (ABPP), a New York State–licensed psychologist, and a bilingual (English/Mandarin) pediatric neuropsychologist. I’ve trained and worked in the nation's leading institutions including UCLA Semel Institute, the Child Mind Institute, and NYU Langone Health / Rusk Rehabilitation. I’m proud to bring that expertise to families here at AYNeuropsych.

My work is grounded in a deep understanding of brain development, brain injury, and the cognitive, social, and emotional factors that influence learning and development. I also have extensive experience evaluating medical and neurological conditions that impact cognition. Together, this expertise allows me to partner closely with families to better understand how a child’s brain works and to help unlock their potential and move them toward a brighter future.

Using evidence-based assessment tools, I specialize in uncovering each child’s cognitive abilities, learning style, social-communication skills, and coping strategies. My goal is not just to identify challenges, but to clearly explain how a child learns and why certain tasks may be harder, so parents, educators, and care teams can truly understand a student’s profile and support them effectively.
I work with individuals from early childhood (age 3) through adulthood, tailoring each evaluation to the child’s developmental stage, background, and unique needs. My areas of expertise include evaluation of:
-
Attention and executive functioning difficulties (e.g., ADHD)
-
Language and communication development
-
Language-based learning differences (e.g., dyslexia)
-
Nonverbal learning differences (e.g., dyscalculia)
-
Autism spectrum disorder
-
Learning differences in bilingual and multilingual learners
-
Medical and neurological conditions that affect cognition (including concussion/brain injuries, genetic syndromes, epilepsy, or cerebral palsy)
-
Anxiety, mood, and other mental health challenges that impact learning and daily functioning
The most rewarding part of my work is collaborating with parents and schools to uncover a child’s strengths, identify barriers to success, and develop individualized, research-based interventions. It is a privilege to partner with families and educators to provide a clear roadmap - one that supports a child’s growth, builds a healthy sense of self, fosters resilience and grit, and helps them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
